[FR] Nouvelles réalisations pour Monum (les Monuments Nationaux) au travers de ces six illustrations qui seront imprimées sur tulle semi-transparent puis suspendues dans l'une des galeries du château de Fougères-sur-Bièvre. Ces illustrations s'inscrivent dans le cadre du parcours audio-visuel La Fée des Eaux Dormantes qui aura lieu du 30 juin au 30 septembre 2007 dans l'enceinte du château.

[ENG] Six brand new illustrations for Monum (the french Monuments Nationaux) which will be exhibited in one of the galleries of the castle of Fougères-sur-Bièvre (France). These pictures belong to the audio-visual exhibition La Fée des Eaux Dormantes wich will take place from 06/30/2007 to 09/30/2007 within the very same castle.

[FR] Le groupe français Sybil Vane m'a demandé il y a quelques semaines de plancher sur l'un des titres de leur futur album et de réaliser une image qui viendrait illustrer une chanson au sein du livret, chaque titre étant proposé à un illustrateur différent.
Voici donc ma petite participation pour la chanson A Place to Stay où j'ai choisi d'aborder la chose avec un rendu graphique assez proche de mon travail pour la jeunesse au niveau du personnage, tout en traitant le paysage de façon un peu plus complexe, selon mon habitude. La chanson s'inspirant elle-même des contes, ce choix s'est rapidement imposé à moi. Ce mélange de techniques me semble fonctionner et je pense même poursuivre dans cette voie pour d'autres réalisations. Et pourquoi pas une petite nouvelle graphique avec ce traitement?

[ENG] The french band Sybil Vane asked me a few weeks ago to work on one of the songs of their new album and to realize a picture that would be printed inside the booklet, each songs being suggested to a different illustrator.
So, here is what I've done so far for the song A Place to Stay where I tried to mix different techniques : a rather simplistic central figure which evokes my illustrative works for chidren along with a more complex and darker landscape. This choice was quickly done since the song itself is inspired by fairytales. This techniques mix seems to work pretty good and I will surely try to create a few other pictures along this idea. And what about a graphic short-story with this treatment?
